VI NA Industrial Gases Holds Periodic PCCC Training for Employees

On November 13, 2025, VI NA Industrial Gases organized a periodic fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) training and drill for all employees. This is an important activity aimed at raising awareness of occupational safety, especially in the industrial gas business, where there are many potential fire and explosion risks if proper procedures are not strictly followed.

The training session was conducted by a specialized PCCC unit, focusing on the following core contents:

Conditions Causing Fire

Combustible materials: industrial gases, flammable gases, oils and greases, production materials, etc.
Oxygen: the element that sustains combustion in the air and in systems containing pure oxygen.
Heat sources: electrical sparks, mechanical impacts, heat-generating equipment, and electrical faults in workshops and factories.

Understanding the conditions that cause fire helps employees proactively prevent risks and respond promptly to emergency situations, especially in working environments that use industrial gases, liquefied gases, and special gases.

Instructions on Proper Use of Fire Extinguishers

To ensure the highest level of safety during the operation – filling – transportation of industrial gases, employees were trained to practice using two types of fire extinguishers:

Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher
Shake the extinguisher, pull out the safety pin, aim at the base of the fire,
Squeeze the handle firmly,
Suitable for fires involving solid materials, flammable liquids, and electrical equipment.

CO₂ Fire Extinguisher
Do not hold the discharge horn to avoid cold burns.
Aim directly at the base of the fire and squeeze the handle so that CO₂ cuts off the oxygen supply.
Very suitable for extinguishing fires involving electrical equipment, control cabinets, and office areas.

Mastering the use of these two types of fire extinguishers helps VI NA Industrial Gases employees quickly handle any incidents that may arise.

Simulated Fire Response and Evacuation Drill

The practical session simulated fire sources from gasoline and household gas cylinders. Employees were instructed on:

Handling fires involving gas cylinders,

  • Extinguishing gasoline and oil fires using CO₂ and dry powder fire extinguishers
Extinguishing a fire using a dry powder fire extinguisher
Extinguishing a fire using a dry powder fire extinguisher
Extinguishing a fire using a CO₂ fire extinguisher
Extinguishing a fire using a CO₂ fire extinguisher

The drill activities help enhance response capability, improve proactiveness, and create a safer working environment in compliance with industrial gas industry standards.

The periodic fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) training is a program that VI NA Industrial Gases consistently conducts every year to ensure occupational safety, minimize risks, and strictly comply with legal regulations on fire and explosion safety. The company is committed to continuously investing in safety training to provide a safe – professional – reliable working environment, while also improving service quality for customers in the industrial gas sector.
